PAPERLESS ORDER Requiring Corrective Action. This cause is before the Court upon a sua sponte review of the record. Petitioner's Petition for a Writ of Habeas Corpus Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2241, (ECF No. 1), contains a signature block but lacks the designated attorney's signature. The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure require that "[e]very pleading, written motion, and other paper must be signed by at least one attorney of record in the attorney's name[.]" Fed. R. Civ. P. 11(a). "The Court must strike an unsigned paper unless the omission is promptly corrected after being called to the attorney's or party's attention." Id. Further, Petitioner has failed to sign his Petition under penalty of perjury. See (ECF No. 1). This District's Local Rules require that a petition for a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to section 2241 "be signed under penalty of perjury by petitioner/movant or by a person authorized to sign it for petitioner/movant." S.D. Fla. L.R. 88.2(a). Accordingly, Petitioner is ORDERED to refile his Petition, within ten (10) days of this Order's issuance, and bring the Petition into compliance with Federal Rule 11 and Local Rule 88.2(a). Signed by Magistrate Judge Lauren Fleischer Louis on 12/2/2025. (wwn) (Entered: 12/02/2025)
