ORDER (AGS): Two weeks ago, in Rumiantseva v. Warden, No. 25-cv-03844-AGS, this Court admonished petitioner's counsel to "make any remote-appearance requests at least two court days before the hearing." Now counsel has once again waited until the day before the hearing to seek approval to appear remotely. At this late hour, if the Court were to deny that motion, counsel would likely be unable to make it to court on time in person, forcing a delay of the proceedings. Such eleventh-hour motions place the Court in an untenable position, and they are an inconvenience to the Court, staff, and the other parties. To the extent the prior order was insufficiently clear, the Court now clarifies it: From now on, in every case before this Court, petitioners counsel must make any remote-appearance requests at least two court days before the hearing. Counsel must coordinate with chambers at efile_schopler@casd.uscourts.gov to facilitate any approved remote appearance. As for petitioner's current motion to appear remotely (ECF 13 ), it is granted. Signed by District Judge Andrew G. Schopler on 3/5/2026. (no document attached) (jxg3) (Entered: 03/05/2026)
