(In Chambers) Order by Judge Stanley Blumenfeld, Jr.: Petitioner filed a petition for a writ of habeas corpus. General Order 26-05 establishes an expedited briefing schedule for immigration habeas petitions in recognition of the inherent exigency of immigration detention. GO 26-05. If the government does not oppose the relief sought in the petition, it shall promptly notify the Court. Otherwise, the government shall file a response by September 24, 2026 and Petitioner shall file any reply no later than October 8. In its response, the government shall address the statutory basis for his detention, whether Petitioner is subject to a final order of removal, and the intended country of removal, and shall attach relevant documents concerning Petitioner's detention. Failure to substantively address the arguments in the petition may be construed as consent to granting the requested relief. To facilitate prompt resolution of the petition, Petitioner should file any reply earlier if practicable.
