Coggins on 8/26/2026: The court has reviewed Petitioner's 4 Motion for a Temporary Restraining Order and 1 Petition for a Writ of Habeas Corpus. In the 1 Petition, Petitioner argues that his 7/5/2026 bond hearing was constitutionally inadequate because he didn't receive notice of the hearing until the morning of, and was disallowed from adequately preparing for it (see Doc. No. 1 at 5-6). Respondents shall file an Opposition or Statement of Non-Opposition to the 4 Motion for a Temporary Restraining Order by 12:00 PM on 8/28/2026. In their response, Respondents shall address whether, and to what extent, Petitioner was given advance notice of the bond hearing and an opportunity to prepare for it. Respondents shall also attach to their response a copy of the immigration judge's custody redetermination order, and either a transcript or recording of the bond hearing. Petitioner may file a reply by 9/11/2026. This matter is not set for a hearing, though the court may schedule one if it determines it is necessary.
