** TEXT ONLY ORDER ** Petitioner Ahmed Salem Abdelfattah Ghoneim, without counsel, applies for a writ of habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2241, contending that federal respondents have unlawfully detained him without giving him a bond hearing in violation of 8 U.S.C. § 1226(a). Dkt. 1 . Petitioner's petition is DISMISSED because it duplicates the habeas corpus petition that his counsel filed in No. 26-cv-757-jdp. Petitioner also applies for a temporary restraining order, Dkt. 3, seeking to prevent federal respondents from transferring him to another facility before his preliminary immigration hearing. Petitioner argues that transfer to another facility outside the court's judicial district would moot his habeas corpus petition. Petitioner's request for a TRO is DENIED as moot. In any event, the court would deny his request on the merits because the court would retain jurisdiction over his petition even if he were transferred to a facility outside the court's judicial district. Cf. In re Hall, 988 F.3d 376, 377 (7th Cir. 2021) ("[A] prisoner's transfer from one federal facility to another during the pendency of a habeas corpus proceeding does not affect the original district court's jurisdiction.").
