SHOW CAUSE ORDER by Judge Greg N. Stivers on 8/11/2026. The Clerk of Court shall forward by certified mail, return receipt requested one copy of the Petition (DN 1 ) and this Show Cause Order on Respondent Mike Lewis, Hopkins County Jailer. On or before 8/14/2026, Respondents shall SHOW CAUSE why the writ of habeas corpus should not be granted. Respondents shall identify whether the case presents a standard Section 1225/1226 issue covered by Lopez-Campos v. Raycraft, 175 F.4th 713 (6th Cir. 2026). If so, Respondents shall provide a bond hearing or release the Petitioner within 5 days. Upon Petitioner receiving a bond hearing or being released, Respondents shall immediately notify the Court. Petitioner may reply, if necessary, to Respondents on or before 8/24/2026. The parties shall appear before this Court for a hearing via Zoom on August 20, 2026, at 11:30 AM CT. The Zoom link will be sent prior to the hearing. Petitioner may appear by Zoom from the Hopkins County Jail. Counsel may contact the Court's case manager, Ms. Traci Duff, at Traci_Duff @kywd.uscourts.gov to arrange for Petitioner to appear via Zoom. If there are no evidentiary issues and the parties wish to forgo a hearing and submit the matter on the papers, the parties may file a joint motion, and the Court will remand the hearing date. Petitioner must notify the Court by or before 12:00 PM CT on 8/18/2026, if an interpreter is necessary for the Show Cause Hearing.
