ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE. In their 4 Return, Respondents contend that this Petition is moot because Petitioner "is receiving the relief he is entitled to receive" given that "DHS... requested for Petitioner that a bond hearing be scheduled"--which was scheduled for August 5, 2026--but which Petitioner "withdrew... to obtain more evidence." (See ECF No. 4 at 2.) Accordingly, the Court ORDERS Petitioner TO SHOW CAUSE on or before August 12, 2026, why this Petition should not be denied as moot or stayed pending the conclusion of Petitioner's bond hearing. Should Petitioner fail timely to respond to this Order, the Court will dismiss without prejudice this Petition. (no document attached) (sxd) (Entered: 08/05/2026)

MINUTE ORDER (1) Discharging Order to Show Cause, and (2) Requiring Further Response from Respondents. In his 6 Response to the Court's August 5, 2026 5 Order to Show Cause, Petitioner contends that "Respondents failed to comply with the governing regulations before arresting Petitioner," meaning "Petitioner's arrest was unlawful from its inception, and his continued detention is unlawful." (See ECF No. 6 at 3.) The Court therefore DISCHARGES its August 5, 2026 5 Order to Show Cause and ORDERS Respondents to file a further response to Petitioner's allegations concerning the lawfulness of his arrest on or before August 20, 2026.
