TEXT ORDER: The Court has reviewed the Petition for a Writ of Habeas Corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2241 filed by Petitioner, Cristian Ruben Chango Andagoya ("Petitioner") who is presently detained at Delaney Hall Detention Facility. (ECF No. 1.) According to the petition, Petitioner was taken into immigration custody on July 24, 2026 while reporting to a scheduled ICE check-in. Petitioner alleges that his civil immigration detention is based upon a traffic citation that has been paid and resolved. Petitioner further alleges that he has complied with immigration authorities, and that a Master Calendar Hearing is scheduled with the Immigration Court on August 12, 2026. Petitioner challenges the legality of his continued detention and requests immediate release. (Id.) Accordingly, it is ORDERED that Respondents shall SHOW CAUSE, within seven (7) days of the date of this Order, why the Petition should not be granted. Petitioner may file a reply within three (3) business days after Respondents file their response. Petitioner shall serve a copy of the Petition and this Order upon Respondents within two (2) business days of the entry of this Order and shall promptly file proof of service on the docket.
