Respondents concede that petitioner is detained pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1226(a) and acknowledge that petitioner is entitled to a timely bond hearing following a request for custody redetermination. See Doc. 7 at 1, 4-5. Petitioner alleges that his oral request for a custody redetermination was denied by the immigration judge on July 10, 2026, for lack of jurisdiction. Doc. 9. Respondents are therefore ORDERED to provide petitioner with a bond hearing within ten (10) days pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1226(a) and its implementing regulations. Respondents shall immediately provide petitioner with a copy of this Order and shall provide him with 72 hours' written notice before the bond hearing. If respondents do not provide petitioner with a bond hearing within ten days, then respondents must release him. The Clerk is directed to close this case and enter judgment for petitioner.
