ENDORSED ORDER. Immigration detainee Francisco Rodriguez filed two petitions for a writ of habeas corpus--one as Doc. 1 in this case and one as the operative pleading in Rodriguez v. Sec. of Homeland Sec., E.D. Cal. Case No. 1:26-cv-5164-DJC-CKD. Rodriguez is detained in Kern County, California, so the Eastern District of California is the proper venue. Because this action is duplicative of the California case, it is DISMISSED without prejudice. I.A. Durbin, Inc. v. Jefferson Nat. Bank, 793 F.3d 1541, 1552 (11th Cir. 1986) (explaining why federal courts should dismiss duplicative actions). The Clerk is DIRECTED to terminate any pending motions and deadlines, enter judgment, and close this case. Rodriguez can continue litigating his habeas claims in the California case.
