Consent to Receipt of Documents Through Alien Detainee Electronic Filing Program by Wal Puoch Deng. The Alien Detainee Electronic Filing Program operates pursuant to General Order 2018-1. When a detainee submits a document for electronic filing, designated detainment facility staff will email a scanned copy and mail the original to the Court. The detainee should not mail a paper copy to the Court or a Respondent. When the scanned copy is docketed by the Court, a Notice of Electronic Filing (NEF) is emailed to the facility. This NEF is printed by designated facility staff and given to the detainee with only the first page of the detainee's filing. Respondents are served by the Court. When designated facility staff receive an NEF for an entry by the Court, the NEF and a full copy of any attached order or document is printed and given to the detainee. The detainment facility will not print the NEF for documents filed by a Respondent. The Respondent must serve the detainee by mail. (nah) (Entered: 06/19/2026)

ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE: The Court GRANTS the motion for leave to proceed in forma pauperis (ECF 3 ); DIRECTS the clerk to serve a copy of this order and the petition (ECF 2 ) on the Warden of the Miami Correctional Facility at the Indiana Department of Correction; DIRECTS the clerk to email a copy of this order and the petition (ECF 2 ) to (a) the Indiana Department of Correction; (b) the Warden of the Miami Correctional Facility at the Miami Correctional Facility, and (c) the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana; ORDERS the entities listed in the previous order line to acknowledge receipt of the petition to the clerk and DIRECTS the clerk to make a notation on the docket upon receiving confirmation of receipt of those deliveries; ORDERS the Warden of the Miami Correctional Facility to file a brief status report by 6/26/2026, with a continuing obligation to supplement with new information, detailing whether there are plans to remove Wal Puoch Deng from the United States in the next thirty days and, if so, to where; ORDERS the Warden of the Miami Correctional Facility to answer the petition by 7/6/2026, including, in addition to any other relevant evidence, (a) a copy of the Order of Removal; (b) the dates of any custody reviews and decisions from those matters, and (c) the dates any travel documents have been requested and the countries from which those travel documents have been requested; and ORDERS that Wal Puoch Deng may file a reply by 7/27/2026.
