(In Chambers) Order by Judge Stanley Blumenfeld, Jr.: Petitioner filed a petition for writ of habeas corpus and an application for a temporary restraining order (TRO). Dkt. Nos. 1-2. General Order 26-05 sets an expedited briefing schedule for immigration habeas petitions because of the inherent exigency arising out of detention; a petitioner seeking relief even sooner must therefore show imminent, irreparable harm that cannot be addressed by the standard scheduling order[.] GO 26-05. The government is ordered to file a response by 2:00 p.m. on July 2, 2026, stating whether it opposes the relief sought in the TRO and petition. If the government opposes, the Court will consider the TRO application after completion of the expedited briefing: Respondents shall file a response by July 7, 2026; and Petitioner shall file his reply no later than July 21.
