District Judge Julia E. Kobick: ELECTRONIC ORDER entered. Petitioner Guelito Binda Kutxi’s petition for a writ of habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2241, ECF 1, is GRANTED as unopposed.Binda Kutxi, a citizen of Angola, filed a habeas petition on June 28, 2026 seeking his immediate release or, alternatively, a bond hearing pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1226(a). ECF 1, at 2, 6. The next day, this Court notified the respondents of the petition and ordered them to respond to the petition by July 6, 2026. ECF 4, 5. As of July 7, 2026, the respondents have failed to file a timely opposition or otherwise respond to Binda Kutxi’s petition.Accordingly, the respondents are ORDERED to provide Binda Kutxi with a bond hearing pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1226(a) within 7 days of this Order.
