MINUTE ORDER. This matter comes before the Court upon the Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus [ECF 1 ]. Petitioner is currently detained by immigration authorities and seeks relief from being subject to mandatory detention pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1225(b)(2)(A). Within one business day, by July 6, 2026, Petitioner shall serve Respondents with the Petition and this Order to Show Cause by email and overnight mail pursuant to the service requirements outlined in Fed. R. Civ. P. 4(i) and promptly file proof of service. Respondents are hereby Ordered to Show Cause, within three business days, by July 8, 2026, why the Petition should not be granted in light of Quiroz. By the same deadline of July 8, 2026, the Parties shall complete and file the Magistrate Judge Consent Form [ECF 3 ]. MINUTE ORDER. Petitioner's Motion to Render an Order of Decision in this Matter [ECF 10 ] is granted. This Court finds, consistent with Quiroz, the Petitioner is detained pursuant to 8 U.S.C § 1226(a) and is entitled to a bond redetermination hearing. The Petition [ECF 1 ] therefore is granted. The Court orders that: 1) Respondents shall conduct such hearing within four business days, by July 22, 2026, and 2) the burden of proof shall be on the government to demonstrate by clear and convincing evidence that continued detention is justified. If Petitioner is not provided a bond determination hearing within this time, the Respondents shall release Petitioner. The Parties shall file a status report within five business days of this Order, by July 23, 2026, apprising the Court on whether the bond hearing was held, the result of such hearing, and/or whether Petitioner was released because of such hearing or in compliance with this Order.
