TEXT ORDER: The Court has reviewed the Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus (ECF No. 1 ) pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2241. According to Petitioner, he is presently being held at an ICE facility in Pennsylvania. It is unclear from the record whether Petitioner was being held in the District of New Jersey when the present petition was filed on 04/18/2026. Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2241(d), a petition for habeas relief must be filed in the district court for the district wherein such person is in custody. Accordingly, the parties are ORDERED to SHOW CAUSE, within seven (7) days of this order, as to why this petition should not be transferred to the United States District court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. It is further ORDERED that Respondents shall SHOW CAUSE, within seven (7) days of this order, why the Petition should not be granted, that Petitioner may file a reply within three (3) days after Respondents file their response, that Petitioner shall serve a copy of the Petition and this Order upon Respondents within two (2) days of entry of this Order and shall promptly file proof of service on the docket.
