ORDER granting 2 Unopposed Motion For Leave to Proceed Under Initials re 1 Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus Under 28:2241. Having considered the non-exhaustive list of factors in Sealed Plaintiff v. Sealed Defendant, 537 F.3d 185, 189-190 (2d Cir. 2008), the court finds that Petitioners need for anonymity outweighs the countervailing interests of the public in full disclosure and potential prejudice to Respondents, all of whom are named in their official capacity. Most significantly, this litigation involves highly sensitive and private information regarding Petitioner and Petitioner is highly vulnerable to possible harms of disclosure, although not due to age. Petitioner has been able to proceed confidentially in other proceedings. Additionally, the court cannot find Defendants will be prejudiced by permitting Petitioner to proceed by initials only. The court also notes Respondents do not oppose this request. Signed by District Judge Mary Kay Lanthier on 6/5/2026. (This is a text-only Order.)(kap) (Entered: 06/05/2026)
