MINUTE ORDER by District Judge Benjamin J. Cheeks re 6 Amended Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus filed by Otoniel Gomez Lopez. On June 15, 2026, Petitioner Otoniel Gomez Lopez filed an Amended Petition for a Writ of Habeas Corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2241. ECF No. 6. Respondents do not oppose an order from this Court directing a bond hearing be held pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1226(a). ECF No. 7 at 1-2. Accordingly, the Court GRANTS in part the petition for a writ of habeas corpus. The government shall hold a bond hearing within fourteen days of this order, unless the noncitizen requests a continuance, and cannot deny bond at the hearing based on 8 U.S.C. § 1225. The government shall make a complete record of the bond hearing available to the noncitizen and his counsel at counsels request. The government is enjoined from transferring Petitioner before a bond hearing takes place. The petition is otherwise DENIED.
