Jun 22, 2026
ORDER granting 12 Motion for Extension of Time to Answer or Otherwise Respond GRANTED. The Court is aware that petitioner opposes a short extension and the Court is sensitive to the importance of acting expeditiously on habeas petitions on behalf of detainees. However, the Court is also aware of the huge burden that the Administration's immigration policies have placed on its attorneys at the local U.S. Attorney's Office level as well as on the courts. Finally, the Court does want the government's thoughtful response to this somewhat unique case. Considering the circumstances, a six-day extension is not unreasonable. Therefore, an answer is due 6/30/2026. by Judge R. Brooke Jackson on 6/22/26. Text Only Entry(rbjlc8, ) (Entered: 06/22/2026)
