MINUTE ORDER (Text Only Entry) This case, filed May 18, 2026, has been initiated by the same Petitioner who initiated a prior action, 2:26-cv-00640-JLT-SKO, which reached judgment on April 2, 2026, and in which the Court ordered Respondents to provide Petitioner with a bond hearing. In the present case, Petitioner indicates that "bond was denied" and asks this Court "to evaluate the decisions... taken" by the immigration judge. (Doc. 1 at 6.) Pursuant to Local Rule 123, the Court finds that this action (1:26-cv-03834-TLN-AC) is related to Case No. 2:26-cv-00640-JLT-SKO because both cases involve overlapping parties, properties, claims, events and/or questions of fact or law. Accordingly, assignment of the actions to the same district judge and to one of the magistrate judges who inherited the caseload formerly assigned to Magistrate Judge Sheila K. Oberto will promote convenience, efficiency, and economy for the Court and parties. Thus, the Court ORDERS that Case No. 1:26-cv-03834-TLN-AC is reassigned to U.S District Judge Jennifer L. Thurston and shall be randomly assigned to one of the magistrate judges who succeeded to the habeas caseload of Magistrate Judge Sheila K. Oberto. All future filings shall reflect the judge reassignments signed by District Judge Jennifer L. Thurston on May 26, 2026. (Deputy Clerk IM) (Entered: 05/26/2026)

MINUTE ORDER (Text Only Entry) The Court has reviewed Petitioner's renewed petition for writ of habeas corpus in the present case, Case No. 1:26-cv-03834-JLT-SAB. (Doc. 1 .) In a related case involving the same parties and claims, Case No. 2:26-cv-00640-JLT-SKO, this Court granted Petitioner's habeas petition, ordered a substantive bond hearing, and closed the case. Petitioner now brings a second petition for writ of habeas corpus in the present case, Case No. 1:26-cv-03834-JLT-SAB, indicating that "bond was denied" and seeking review of the immigration judge's determination. (See Doc. 1 at 6-8.) In that petition, Petitioner challenges the sufficiency and accuracy of the evidence supporting the immigration judge's bond determination, rather than the constitutionality of the process by which that determination was reached. That is not a question for this Court. In granting the initial writ of habeas corpus, the Court ordered a process, not an outcome. Complaints about the conclusion the IJ reached must be presented through the normal immigration appeals process. Thus, the Court DECLINES to take any further action in this matter, DENIES the pending petition (Doc. 1 ), and directs the Clerk of Court to CLOSE this case signed by District Judge Jennifer L. Thurston on May 26, 2026. (Deputy Clerk IM) (Entered: 05/26/2026)
