TEXT ORDER: The Court has reviewed the transcript of the proceeding conducted before the Immigration Judge. The proceeding was not fundamentally unfair. The Petitioner was present, as was his lawyer and an interpreter. The Immigration Judge itemized the relevant evidence; heard from the parties at length; and posed follow-up questions, some of which assumed detailed knowledge of the record. See, e.g., ECF [6-1] at 9:10-13 and 10:19-21. The Immigration Judge explained his reasoning at length, and, after doing so, directed his attention to the Petitioner to explain his decision in a way that was not encumbered by acronyms and legal terminology. At the close of the proceeding, the Immigration Judge apprised the Petitioner of his appellate rights. Fundamental fairness did not require more than this. In addition, the Petitioner alludes to conditions of confinement. But conditions of confinement claims are not generally a basis for habeas relief. See Leamer v. Fauver, 288 F.3d 532, 540-42 (3d Cir. 2002); see also Nelson v. Campbell, 541 U.S. 637, 643-44 (2004). The Petitioner's request for relief is denied. This case shall be closed unless a party explains why should be kept open. Any such explanation must be filed on or before June 10 at 10:00am. So Ordered by Judge Michael E. Farbiarz on 6/5/26.
