ORDER AND ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE: Respondent Cantu is dismissed. The Clerk of Court must substitute acting United States Attorney General Todd Blanche for Respondent Bondi. Petitioner's Motion to Appoint Counsel (Doc. 2 ) is denied without prejudice. Ground Three is dismissed without prejudice. Within 30 days of the date this Order is filed, Petitioner must either pay the $5.00 filing fee or file a complete Application to Proceed In Forma Pauperis. If Petitioner fails to do so, the Clerk of Court must enter a judgment of dismissal of this action without prejudice and without further notice to Petitioner and deny any pending unrelated motions as moot. The Clerk of Court must serve a copy of the Summons, the Petition (Doc. 1 ) and this Order on the United States Attorney for the District of Arizona, the United States Attorney General and to Respondent(s) by certified mail. The Clerk of Court shall immediately transmit by email a copy of this Order and the Petition to the United States Attorney for the District of Arizona, to the attention of Melissa Kroeger, Lon Leavitt, Theo Nickerson, Dina Anagnopoulos, and Mary Finlon. Respondents must show cause no later than 5/22/2026, why Grounds One and Two of the Petition should not be granted. Petitioner may file a reply no later than 5/29/2026.
