Judge Myong J. Joun: ELECTRONIC ORDER entered. On May 12, 2026, Petitioner filed a Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus. Doc. No. 1 . Although Petitioner contends she was “unlawfully detained,” the Petition does not allege any supporting facts for that claim. As Respondents note, Rule 2(c) of the Habeas Rules and Rule 8 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure require a petitioner to plead facts supporting the asserted grounds for relief. See Doc. No. 7 at 2. The Petition does not satisfy those pleading requirements. See, e.g., Pereira v. Moniz et al., 26-cv-10008 at *1 (D. Mass. Jan. 21, 2026).Accordingly, the Petition is DISMISSED without prejudice. Petitioner may file a new habeas petition that includes factual allegations sufficient to satisfy the pleading standards set forth in Rule 2(c) and Fed. R. Civ. P. 8. In addition, if Petitioner remains in New Hampshire, see Doc. No. 7 at 1, any refiled petition should be filed in the appropriate federal district there, as jurisdiction would no longer be proper in the District of Massachusetts.(SP) (Entered: 05/18/2026)
