District Judge Margaret R. Guzman: ELECTRONIC ORDER entered. It is well-settled that a federal district court has the authority to dismiss a case with prejudice due to a party's failure to prosecute and/or comply with court orders. See e.g., Link v. Wabash R. Co., 370 U.S. 626, 629 (1962) (The authority of a federal trial court to dismiss a plaintiff's action with prejudice because of [their] failure to prosecute cannot seriously be doubted); Tower Ventures, Inc. v. City of Westfield, 296 F.3d 43, 45-46 (1st Cir. 2002) (We have made it plain that a litigant who ignores case-management deadlines does so at [their] peril) (citation omitted). On May 6, 2025, this Court ordered purported Next Friend-Petitioner Nilufer Adak to show cause why this action should not be dismissed by May 9, 2025. [ECF No. 9]. Ms. Adak did not respond to the Court's order and the time to do so has expired. Accordingly, the Court will now dismiss this case with prejudice. See Link, 370 U.S. 626 at 629; Tower Ventures Inc., 296 F.3d at 45-46. (SF) (Entered: 05/14/2025)
