ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE: On April 26, 2026, Petitioner, Vilder Gomez-Gomez, who is represented by counsel, filed a petition for a writ of habeas corpus, pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2241. [ECF No. 1]. Petitioner did not file a motion for a temporary restraining order or file an emergency application, but he does seek immediate release. [ECF No. 1]. Accordingly, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that Respondents shall show cause why the Petition should not be granted by May 1, 2026. Petitioner shall file reply papers, if any, by May 8, 2026. The Parties are directed to specifically address whether this Court's prior decision in Chen v. Almodovar, 815 F. Supp. 3d 314 (S.D.N.Y. 2025) dictates the outcome in this case.
