TEXT ORDER: The Court has reviewed the Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2241 filed by Petitioner Issau Umar Farouk, a native and citizen of Ghana. (ECF No. 1.) According to the Petition, Petitioner was paroled into the United States in 2014. Petitioner alleges he was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on October 23, 2025, pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1225(b). Petitioner asserts that his continued civil immigration detention without an individualized custody determination violates the Due Process Clause of the Fifth Amendment. Accordingly, it is on this 6th day of May 2026, ORDERED that Respondents shall SHOW CAUSE, on or before May 13, 2026, why the Petition should not be granted. Petitioner may file a reply within three (3) business days after Respondents file their response. Petitioner shall serve a copy of the Petition and this Order upon Respondents within two (2) business days of entry of this Order and shall promptly file proof of service on the docket.
