TEXT ORDER - The Court has reviewed the Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2241 file by Petitioner Fatih Uguz. (ECF No. 1.) According to the Petition, Petitioner entered the United States on or about June 1, 2022. He subsequently filed a Form I-589 Application for Asylum, Withholding of Removal, and Protection under the Convention Against Torture. Petitioner alleges he was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on March 22, 2026, and is currently detained at Delaney Hall Detention Facility. Petitioner asserts that his continued civil immigration detention without an individualized custody determination violates due process. Accordingly, it is on this 17th day of April 2026, ORDERED that Respondents shall SHOW CAUSE, on or before April 24, 2026, why the Petition should not be granted. Petitioner may file a reply within three (3) business days after Respondents file their response. Petitioner shall serve a copy of the Petition and this Order upon Respondents within two (2) business days of entry of this Order and shall promptly file proof of service on the docket. Petitioner shall not be removed from the District of New Jersey during the pendency of these proceedings. So Ordered by Judge Karen M. Williams on April 17, 2026. (Williams, Karen) (Entered: 04/17/2026)
