ORDER. Petitioner Juan Alberto Gallegos Rangel, immigration detainee, has filed a counseled Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2241. ECF No. 1 . The Court has reviewed the Petition and preliminarily believes Petitioner likel y can demonstrate that his circumstances warrant the same relief as this Court ordered for Petitioners Mena-Vargas and Reyes-Lopez in Escobar Salgado v. Mattos, No. 2:25-CV-01872-RFB-EJY, 2025 WL 3205356 (D. Nev. Nov. 17, 2025). Thus, Responden ts are ORDERED TO SHOW CAUSE why the Writ should not be granted. See 28 U.S.C. § 2243. Respondents shall file, in writing, within three days, a notice of appearance and "a return certifying the true cause of detention" no later than November 21, 2025. Id. ORDER - IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the Petition (ECF No. 1 ) is GRANTED. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Respondents must provide Petitioner with a bond hearing pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1226(a) no later than December 17, 2025. IT IS FU RTHER ORDERED that Respondents are enjoined from denying Petitioner release on bond on the basis that he is subject to mandatory detention pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1225(b)(2). (See Order for details). IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the partie s shall file a status report on the status of Petitioner's bond hearing by December 18, 2025. The status report shall detail if and when the bond hearing occurred, if bond was granted or denied, and if denied, the reasons for that denial.
