MINUTE ORDER IN CHAMBERS of the Honorable Judge Jennifer A. Dorsey on 5/13/2026. On April 10, 2026, this court entered an order barring the respondents from transferring petitioner Liu Liangli out of this district during the pendency of this immigration habeas case, with the exception of effectuating his lawful deportation 3 . Liangli's counsel tells this court that the facility in which he was detained, the Nevada Southern Detention Center, has advised that he was "released," but it is unclear whether this means that he was transferred to another facility, deported, or truly released from custody. Petitioner's counsels efforts to obtain clarity from respondents counsel have been fruitless. So counsel has filed a Motion for Order Directing Respondents to Identify Where Petitioner is Being Detained and Staying Briefing 6 . With good cause appearing, the motion 6 is GRANTED. Counsel for respondents must file by 5 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, a status report that identifies whether Petitioner Liu Liangli is currently in detention and, if so, where; and if he is at liberty or has been deported, respondents must provide proof of release or details about where he was removed to. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that petitioner's counsel's deadline to file an amended petition or move to dismiss the petition is extended to June 17, 2026.
