TEXT ORDER: The Court has reviewed the Petition for a Writ of Habeas Corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2241 filed by Petitioner Juan Jose Bernal Quintero, who is presently detained at Delaney Hall Detention Facility in Newark, New Jersey. (ECF No. 1 .) Petitioner, a citizen of Mexico, alleges that he arrived in the United States as a minor in 2017, and has resided here since. Petitioner has a pending I-130 Petition for Alien Relative and no criminal record. Petitioner alleges that he was unlawfully detained on April 2, 2026 pursuant to 8 U.S.C. § 1225(b), and that his continued detention violates the Due Process Clause of the Fifth Amendment. (Id.) Accordingly, it is ORDERED that Respondents shall SHOW CAUSE, on or before April 14, 2026, why the Petition should not be granted. Petitioner may file a reply within three (3) business days after Respondents file their response. Petitioner shall serve a copy of this Order and the Petition upon Respondents within two (2) business days of the entry of this Order and shall promptly file proof of service on the docket.
