Minute Entry for proceedings held before US Magistrate Judge Mariana E. Bauza-Almonte: Evidentiary Hearing held on 3/26/2026. Present were AUSA Madeline M. Mas-Saavedra and CJA counsel Raymond L. Sanchez-Maceira. Petitioner Jerson Luis Mari was under the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents custody, present in court, and assisted by the Court's certified interpreters. Warrant for arrest of alien was received by the Court as per DE 15 Order. The document was marked and admitted as petitioner's exhibit # 1. ICE's Form I-213 from 2026 was marked and admitted as petitioners exhibit # 2 and Form I-213 from 2023 was marked and admitted as petitioners exhibit # 3. Attorney Sanchez informed that his new argument is that there should not be a new case but a reopening of the 2023 case. He shall file an amended petition today. Also, the Court requested that petitioner's exhibits 2 and 3 be redacted and resubmitted so that they can be filed in the docket. The government has until April 1, 2026, to file its response to the Court's order. Attorney Sanchez-Maceira shall file a reply by April 3, 2026. (Court Reporter DCR.)
