ORDER re 1 PETITION for Writ of Habeas Corpus: On March 6, 2026, Petitioner Cristian Omar Coreas-Arevalo filed a "Petition for a Writ of Habeas Corpus Under 28 U.S.C. § 2241." See Petition, ECF No. 1. The Petition identifies Petitioner's "[p]lace of confinement" as Jackson Parish Correctional Center in Jonesboro, Louisiana, which is within the Western District of Louisiana. ORDER: On March 10, 2026, the parties filed a Stipulation reflecting that the parties agree "that this action shall be transferred pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1631 to the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana." See Stipulation, ECF No. 4. Upon consideration of the Stipulation, the record to date, and the applicable law and having determined that transfer is in the interest of justice, the Court directs the Clerk of Court to transfer this action to the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana. See Rumsfeld v. Padilla, 542 U.S. 426, 443 (2004); Ozturk v. Hyde, 136 F.4th 382, 390-92 (2d Cir. 2025); 28 U.S.C. § 1631. The provision of Local Civil Rule 83.1 requiring a seven-day delay between a transfer order and the effectuation of the transfer is waived. The Clerk of Court is directed to close this case.
