TRANSFER ORDER: In his 1 Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus Under 28 U.S.C. § 2241, Petitioner challenges his ongoing detention by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at the Adams County Correctional Center in Natchez, Mississippi. It is well settled that § 2241 requires a habeas petitioner seeking to challenge his custody to file a petition in the district of confinement. See Rumsfeld v. Padilla, 542 U.S. 426, 443 (2004); Trump v. J.G.G., 604 U.S. 670, 672 (2025). Venue in this District is therefore improper. The Clerk of Court is directed to transfer this action to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi and to close this matter. Ordered by Judge Orelia E. Merchant on 2/26/2026.
