MINUTES OF Status Conference held before Magistrate Judge Angela C. C. Viramontes: The Court held a status conference as previously scheduled. Attorneys Cynthia Felix, Mayra Navarro, and Alexa Askari appeared on behalf of Petitioners. Assistant United States Attorney Daniel Beck appeared on behalf of Respondents. The parties confirmed that the minor Petitioners have been released from ORR's custody. Petitioner I.A.R. is now in ICE's custody in Texas. At this juncture, it is unclear whether the Court has jurisdiction over I.A.R.'s claims as ICE is not a respondent in this case, and I.A.R. is in ICE's custody in another district. Accordingly, the Court sets a briefing schedule. The parties may file briefing, no later than close of business on April 24, 2026, addressing whether the Court retains jurisdiction over I.A.R.'s claims. The parties are further ordered to meet and confer regarding the remaining Petitioners who have been released. It is not clear whether further relief is available, and if so, what that relief would be. The parties are ordered to meet and confer no later than April 22,2026, to discuss what, if anything, remains to be done with respect to the Petition. Should the parties agree there is nothing further for the Court to decide, they should file a stipulated dismissal. Otherwise, the parties are ordered to file a joint status report outlining what issue(s) remain and proposing a briefing schedule and format to address those questions.
