ELECTRONIC ORDER: Petitioner's pro-se motion for the Court to appoint him counsel in this new habeas action challenging his immigration detention under 28 U.S.C. § 2241, Dkt. No. 2, is DENIED without prejudice as premature. This case is pending preliminary judicial screening. See Rules 1(b), 4 of the Rules Governing Section 2254 Cases in the United States District Courts. Additionally, there is no constitutional right to the appointment of counsel in habeas actions, and Petitioner fails to otherwise demonstrate that the interests of justice require the appointment of counsel at this early stage of litigation.
