TEXT ORDER: Petitioner Jordania Loreysi Cano Sanchez, a native and citizen of Nicaragua who allegedly entered the United States without inspection in approximately 2007, is presently detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at the Delaney Hall Detention Facility in New Jersey. (ECF No. 1 .) She alleges that Respondents are unlawfully subjecting her to mandatory detention without bond under § 1225(b). Petitioner further contends that she is a member of a nationwide class in Maldonado Bautista v. Santacruz, in which a federal district court declared the Government's policy denying bond eligibility under similar circumstances unlawful. She therefore seeks habeas relief under 28 U.S.C. § 2241, requesting release or, in the alternative, a bond hearing. (Id.) Accordingly, it is ORDERED that Respondents shall SHOW CAUSE, no later than Thursday, March 18, 2026, why the Petition for habeas corpus relief should not be granted. Petitioner may file a reply brief in support of the Petition within three (3) business days after the filing of Respondents' answer. Petitioner shall not be removed from New Jersey during the pendency of these proceedings. So Ordered by Judge Jamel K. Semper on 3/11/2026. (sms) (Entered: 03/11/2026)
