Judge Allison D. Burroughs: ELECTRONIC ORDER entered. On March 4, 2026, Petitioner filed the instant petition for writ of habeas corpus, [ECF No. 1 ], which states that Petitioner possesses Special Immigrant Juvenile status, [id. ¶ 1], that his removal proceedings have been administratively closed, [id. ¶ 2], and that he lived at liberty in the United States for seven years prior to being detained, [id. ¶ 3]. Petitioner asks the Court to “find . . . his detention to be unlawful and to order [Respondents] to release him.” [Id. ¶ 5]. In support, he cites Zadvydas v. Davis, 533 U.S. 693 (2001), [ECF No. 1 ¶ 17]; 8 U.S.C. § 1226(a), [id. ¶ 19]; 8 C.F.R. §§ 236.1, 1236.1, and 1003.19, [id. ¶ 22]; and the Administrative Procedure Act, [id. ¶ 26].Respondents argue that the petition is lacking key information on which Respondents, and the Court, must rely to “determine the constitutionality of Petitioner’s detention.” [ECF No. 7 at 5]. The Court agrees. The Petition is DENIED with leave to file an amended petition within 21 days, which should fully set forth the factual basis for Petitioner’s challenge to his detention, including the missing information identified by Respondents, see [id.], and state the legal basis for his challenge in light of those facts. (CAM) (Entered: 03/24/2026)
