ORDER the petition, Docket Item 1, is DISMISSED without prejudice for lack of jurisdiction. If Mendoza Cruz believes that she can adequately serve as Maraboli Jaras next friend in light of the principles set forth above, she may file an amended petition by April 16, 2026. If she files an amended petition under this case number, she need not again pay the filing fee. If she does not file an amended petition by April 16, 2026, the Clerk of the Court shall close this case without further order.In the alternative, Maraboli Jara may file a petition on his own behalf in a new action. Maraboli Jara is advised that if he does so, the filing fee for a petition for a writ of habeas corpus is $5.00. 28 U.S.C. § 1914(a). If he cannot pay the filing fee, he may instead move to proceed in forma pauperis (that is, as a person who should have the prepayment of the ordinary filing fee waived because he cannot afford it).
