MINUTE ORDER IN CHAMBERS of the Honorable Judge Cristina D. Silva on 3/25/2026. Petitioner Jose Alonso Miranda-Vazquez's counsel moves to extend the deadline to file an amended petition for writ of habeas corpus by seven days because counsel has not yet had the opportunity to interview the petitioner. ECF No. 8 . The motion is unopposed. Although 28 U.S.C. § 2241 requires that petitions for writ of habeas corpus be promptly addressed, the petitioner's request for an extension is reasonable under these circumstances. It is therefore ordered that the petitioner's unopposed motion (ECF No. 8 ) is granted. The petitioner has until March 31, 2026, to file an amended petition.
