** TEXT ONLY ORDER **Petitioner, a non-citizen currently detained in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody, contends that respondents have unlawfully detained him without giving him a bond hearing. The court recently addressed this issue in Paredes-Padilla v. Galovich, case no. 25-cv-863-jdp, Dkt. 19, concluding that the government had unlawfully classified the petitioner in that case as ineligible for bond. Because petitioner is represented by counsel, petitioner is directed to submit summonses, which the clerk of court will issue upon receipt. Petitioner should promptly serve respondents with the petition and this order. Respondents' response to the petition will be due seven days after petitioner files his certificate of service. Petitioner's reply will be due three days after that. If respondents oppose the petition, they should identify any circumstances that distinguish this case from Paredes-Padilla. Signed by District Judge James D. Peterson on 3/2/2026. (lam),(ps) (Entered: 03/02/2026)
