PAPERLESS ORDER denying 3 Defendant's Motion to Dismiss or Transfer Action. Petitioner claims he is being held at South Florida Detention Center in Miami, but Respondents, without evidence, state that he is being detained at the Florida Soft Side Detention Facility in Collier, Florida. Respondents claim this Court lacks jurisdiction, since Soft Side lies within the Middle District of Florida. But the Court cannot dismiss or transfer the Petition for lack of jurisdiction based on Respondents' bare-bone assertions alone. Respondents shall respond to the Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus 1 by March 6, 2026. Respondents may renew their argument that jurisdiction is not proper, but Respondents must present evidence. Respondents shall also address the merits of the Petition 1 . All audio recordings submitted by the parties must be filed conventionally.
