MINUTE ORDER by District Judge Robert S. Huie: Petitioner's status report [ECF 9] indicates that he was granted asylum by an immigration judge on March 10, 2026. Respondents' status report [ECF 10] indicates that DHS will not be appealing the grant of asylum, and that Petitioner can be released from custody. It appears to the Court that Petitioner's release will substantially address the relief sought in the Petition. Accordingly, in the expectation that Petitioner will be released from custody in the near future, no later than 3/20/26 Petitioner shall file either: (1) a request to dismiss the case, or (2) a brief specifically identifying any further relief that Petitioner seeks, and addressing the legal basis for each form of relief sought as well as the Courts jurisdiction to grant such relief on a habeas petition where Petitioner has been released from custody.
