On March 6, 2026, the Ninth Circuit stayed the applicability of the December 18, 2025, declaratory judgment entered in Lazaro Maldonado Bautista v. U.S. Department of Homeland Security, et al., leaving it in effect only within the Central District of California. (See No. 26-1044, Dkt. 5 (9th Cir. 2026)). Accordingly, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the parties must file, no later than March 12, 2026, a Joint Status Report informing the Court whether Petitioner has received a bond hearing since filing the 1 Petition. MINUTE ORDER IN CHAMBERS of the Honorable Judge Gloria M. Navarro on 3/13/2026. Before the Court is the 1 Petition filed by Petitioner Alejandro Ramirez Quema, who seeks a bond hearing under the order entering final judgment in Maldonado Bautista v. Santacruz, No. 5:25-CV-01873-SSS-BFM (C.D. Cal.). As the Court explained in its 11 Minute Order, the Ninth Circuit recently stayed the applicability of that order, leaving it in effect only within the Central District of California. (See Order, ECF No. 11). Accordingly, the Court DENIES the 1 Petition without prejudice. Petitioner must file an Amended Petition which does not exclusively rely on Maldonado Bautista no later than 7 days from the entry of this Order.
