MINUTE ORDER IN CHAMBERS of the Honorable Judge Richard F. Boulware, II on 2/13/2026.Before the Court is Mr. Domingo Ramirez Mendez's Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus (ECF No. 1). The Court has preliminary reviewed the Petition and finds that it is procedurally defective because it lacks a signed verification statement. Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2242, all "[a]pplications for a writ of habeas corpus [must] be in writing signed and verified by the person for whose relief it is intended or by someone acting [on their] behalf." 28 U.S.C. § 2242 (emphasis added). Petitioner's Petition is not properly verified.Therefore, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED Petitioner must re-file a verified petition for a writ of habeas corpus by February 17, 2026. Petitioner can do so by using the "Notice of Corrected Image/Document" event.
