EO: On February 9, 2026, the court received a Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus filed under 28 U.S.C. § 2241 ("Petition"), requesting the court assume jurisdiction over this matter, and seeking inter alia "habeas corpus relief under 28 U.S.C. § 2243, immediate release, or, at minimum, prompt custody redetermination (bond hearing) before an immigration judge; together with injunctive relief, including a Temporary Restraining Order ('TRO') directing Respondents to immediately release Petitioner." Dkt. No. 1, at PageID.5-6. The Petition is accepted.Petitioner's counsel has filed proof of service with the court. See Dkt. No. 5. But in order to help secure the just, speedy, and inexpensive determination of the petition, the Clerk is directed to attempt a further courtesy transmission of the petition and this Order to the respondent and appropriate government counsel using any contact information available to the court. Such transmission is provided solely as a courtesy and shall not be deemed service of process. The Clerk is not responsible for the accuracy of contact information or for any failure or defect in service. Counsel's service obligations are not satisfied by the Clerk's courtesy transmission.A Status Conference is set for Friday, February 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. via Video Conference before JUDGE MICAH W.J.
