ORDER FOR STATUS UPDATE by District Judge Sarah M. Davenport.On February 6, 2026, Petitioner filed a request for a writ of habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2241. Respondents opposed the petition, arguing the claims were unripe because 90 days had not elapsed since Petitioner's removal order became final. See Doc. 7 at 3. Consequently, Respondents did not produce any evidence demonstrating that Petitioner's removal is reasonably foreseeable..On November 3, 2025, Petitioners' removal order became administratively final. See id. at 2. Petitioner has been detained in Respondents' custody for approximately 11 months, including more than six months since the removal order became final. See id.The Court ORDERS Respondents to file a status report no later than May 25, 2026, informing it of whether they have made progress in effectuating Petitioner's removal since filing their response.
