MINUTE ORDER, Motions terminated: 4 MOTION for Order to Show Cause Within Three Days or Grant Writ Forthwith filed by Giau Van Dang. The following MINUTE ORDER is made by direction of the Court, the Honorable Ricardo S. Martinez, United States District Judge: This case was opened on February 2, 2026. That same day, Petitioner filed the above "Motion for Order to Show Cause Within Three Days or Grant Writ Forthwith." Dkt. #4. The following day, the Court issued its standard "Scheduling Order Directing Respondents to Show Cause Why Writ of Habeas Corpus Should Not Be Granted." Dkt. #7. The Court has reviewed these filings and finds that Petitioner's Motion seeks relief that is duplicative and foreclosed by the Court's Scheduling Order. The Motion is therefore DENIED as MOOT. If either party seeks an expedited or enlarged briefing schedule, counsel for that party shall contact the opposing counsel promptly to meet and confer. The parties shall then file a joint expedited motion, noted for the same day it is filed, that contains either an agreed briefing schedule or the parties' competing proposals for a briefing schedule. See Dkt. #7 at 2-3. (CB) (Entered: 02/04/2026)
