District Judge Leo T. Sorokin: ELECTRONIC ORDER entered. The habeas petition filed in this case reflects that the petitioner’s lawyer does not know her client’s location. Judge Talwani issued an order early this morning (4:08 AM) directing the respondents not to move the petitioner out of Massachusetts for 48 hours. The Court has now entered a service order extending that restriction to prevent his transfer absent 72 hours’ notice. To facilitate the Court’s initial assessment of its jurisdiction, the respondent shall by the close of business tomorrow, September 5, 2025, file a notice stating: 1) where the petitioner was located at the time the habeas petition was filed; and 2) where the petitioner is currently located. The Court has not yet set a deadline for the substantive response to the petition but will do so promptly after receiving the notice regarding the petitioner’s location.(FGD) (Entered: 09/04/2025)
