Judge Myong J. Joun: ELECTRONIC ORDER entered. Respondents seek leave to file supplemental documents. For the following reasons, Respondents request is DENIED.Mr. Guzman-Valdez filed his petition for habeas on August 18, 2025. Doc. No. 1 . The Court gave Respondents three weeks to file a response. Doc. No. 5 . On September 8, 2025, the Court granted Respondents extra time to file a response, until September 12, 2025. Doc. No. 9 . The matter was fully briefed by September 22, 2025. Doc. No. 16 . On September 23, 2025, the Court held a hearing on the petition and requested Respondents to provide details pertaining to whether the official who gave Mr. Guzman-Valdez his informal interview had authority to do so under 8 C.F.R. § 241.4 and to what extent Mr. Guzman-Valdez was given notice and an opportunity to be heard prior to detention. Doc. No. 18 . The Court held an evidentiary hearing on October 1, 2025; however, the Government did not provide the Courts requested information. Doc. No. 19 . At the hearing, Respondents sought leave of this Court to file supplemental documents. Where Respondents had ample opportunity to cure the deficiencies within their response and where further delay would be prejudicial to Mr. Guzman-Valdez who has been held in custody over two months, the Court DENIES Respondents request.
