MINUTE ORDER signed by Magistrate Judge Allison Claire on 02/04/2026. In their opposition to the motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction (ECF No. 2 ), respondents affirmatively stated that they do not intend to supplement their briefing beyond the instant opposition and encouraged the court to rule on the merits of the underlying petition at the same time it rules on the motion for preliminary injunctive relief (ECF No. 8 ). Petitioner has now been granted a preliminary injunction ordering, among other things, petitioner's immediate release (ECF No. 13 ). Within three days from the date of this order, respondents shall file a status report confirming petitioner's release and that petitioner's documents and possessions have been returned to him. The case will be submitted for decision on the merits effective February 12, 2026, unless before that date Respondents file an Answer or Return to the petition for writ of habeas corpus. Should Respondents file such a document, petitioner may file a Reply/Traverse seven days thereafter. (Text Only Entry). (Deputy Clerk JAA) (Entered: 02/04/2026)
