MINUTE ORDER by Chief Judge Philip A. Brimmer on 1/21/2026. This matter is before the Court on petitioner Enderson Enrique Chavez Armenta's Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2241. Docket No. 1 . Petitioner requests that the Court "issue an Order to Show Cause, and direct Respondents to file a response within three days." Id. at 3. Petitioner shall, by overnight mail and email, serve respondents with a copy of the petition and this order on or before January 23, 2026. Petitioner shall file proof of service. Within 10 days of service, respondents shall show cause why the petition for writ of habeas corpus should not be granted. See Yassine v. Collins, 2025 WL 1954064, at *1 (W.D. Tex. July 7, 2025) (although § 2243 refers to three days, "the time limits in § 2243 are subordinate to the district court's authority to set deadlines under Rule 4 of Rules Governing Section 2254 Cases in the United States District Courts" and noting that "Courts have found that a fourteen-day deadline to respond to show cause orders is reasonable") (internal quotation and citation omitted). Petitioner may file a reply within seven days of respondents filing their response. Text Only Entry (pabsec, ) (Entered: 01/21/2026)
